Putting Overview – Recent Putting – Putting Hole by Hole
These statistics are derived from the basic statistics of Putts per hole.
The Golf X Stats ‘Putting Overview’ page allows you to view in numerical form the number of putts taken on average for each hole during a round of golf.
Like the Stroke statistics these statistics include Average Putts for all Rounds, Last 10 Rounds, Last 5 Rounds and Last Round.
Overall averages are displayed in blue and good and poor results in green and red.
The putts are calculated for Zero to Four +. ( A valid round does not require a Putt to be made as a hole in one is possible ).
The blue average figures may not immediately be understood, but in this example Two 12.2 actually refers to 2 x 12.2 or 24.4 putts on average and Three 2.0 which means 3 x 2.0 or 6 putts on average. (This player 3 Putts twice on average during a typical round.)
Reducing your total Putts is the most meaningful statistic and progress can be tracked with reference to the Last 10 Rounds, Last 5 Rounds and Last Round. There is no faster way to lower your handicap than to reduce your Putts per Round.
The Recent Putting graph displays your putting performance in a time based manner by analysing your recent golfing rounds. The ‘Number of Rounds Analysed‘ can be selected from Last 5, Last 10, Last 20, Last 25 and Last 50.
When the selection is made the Maximum, Minimum and Average Putting statistics for each group are calculated allowing a very clear view of the putting trends from recent Rounds.
Pressing on the green node on the graph will reveal the exact number of putts taken on each Round.
The Recent Putts graph displays a red line displaying the ‘Average Number of Putts‘ which changes according to the ‘Number of Rounds Analysed‘.
Note: despite variations in the Minimum and Maximum Putts taken each Round the Average for groups of rounds does not vary as much as you probably anticipate. This observation is similar to ‘Average Strokes per Round’. A clear focus on ‘how and where’ you are often 3 Putting or regularly not chipping close to give yourself a chance of making a one putt, will lower your putting average. Improved putting is the easiest way to lower your handicap!
Double tapping will hide the ‘Legend’.
Putting – Hole by Hole
Pressing the blue ‘By Hole‘ menu at the top right of the page will take you to the ‘Putting Hole By Hole‘ analysis graphs.
This is a series of graphs for all holes showing the average putts taken on each green. To access successive holes simply swipe ‘Left‘ to advance the hole or ‘Right‘ to decrease the hole being reviewed. Colour coding shows relative performance levels compared to the Par of the hole. ‘Last Round‘ and ‘Last Five Rounds‘ are also displayed graphically.
Double tapping will hide the ‘Legend’ and a long press will hide the Last Round “Star“.
